For Swiss startup entrepreneurs, China is a key market to explore. With the necessity to increase the visibility of Swiss high-tech innovation in China, Swiss-Sino Innovation Center (SSIC) is excited to launch the third innovation trip China in Nov 2023 after the COVID pandemic.
The 3rd innovation trip China visited 4 cities, Jiaxing(Jiashan),Ningbo,Tianjing and Zhenjiang,in 10 days with numerous visits, pitching & networking events. SSIC aims to bring together financial institutions, large corporates, innovators and government officials to seek synergy and the best opportunities to cooperate, and to facilitate the effective cooperation in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship between the two countries.
The ten innovative companies participating in the China Tour come from the fields of financial technology, hydrogen energy technology, 3D printing technology, biomedical technology and medical technology. All of them have the leading technology and high quality market potential in their fields. Under the current environment of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation", the Chinese market is particularly open and active, and China's huge market potential and policy support is a strong attraction for Swiss and European innovative companies.
First stop Jiashan, Jiaxing
On November 7th, 2023, ten Swiss high-tech innovation startups invited by the Swiss-Sino Innovation Center (SSIC) kicked off their ten-day trip to China in Jiashan, Jiaxing.
From November 7th to 9th, the "Xiangfu You - Go with Jiashan" Swiss High-level Talents Jiashan Tour was successfully held in Jiashan County. This activity was hosted by Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute and Jiashan County People's Government, organized by the Organization Department of the County Party Committee, the County Science and Technology Bureau, the County Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the People's Government of Gan'yao Town, the Jiashan Innovation Center of Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, and the Sino-Swiss Innovation Center, and co-organized by the Swiss Branch of the European and American Students' Association, the Xiangfu Laboratory, and the Yangtze River Delta Wisdom Oasis Future Regional Laboratory of Zhejiang University.
This activity includes key enterprise visits, high-level science and innovation platform talent exchanges, talent achievement project roadshow, town platform docking negotiation and other links, attracting a number of Swiss high-level talents with high-quality science and technology innovation projects to good with the town platform talent investment personnel, enterprise technology research and development personnel and carrier platform scientific research personnel "face-to-face" communication and exchanges, aimed at promoting the development of the Chinese economy. "The aim is to promote the gathering of excellent talents and innovative resources, and to promote scientific and technological innovation and high-quality industrial development.
Second Stop Ningbo
On the morning of November 10, 2023, the second session of the "Yin future" conference was held, Yinzhou invites the world's talents to Yinzhou,Ningbo. Municipal Party committee, district party secretary Shen Min speech. Leaders at the municipal level, academicians, talent experts, overseas and domestic high-level talent more than 350 people gathered in Yinzhou, DANCE DONG. Swiss-Sino Innovation Center led a delegation of more than 10 Swiss innovative enterprises to participate in the opening ceremony of the second "Yin Future" conference.
In the afternoon, the Swiss Innovation Project Matchmaking Promotion Meeting was held in the Presentation Hall of Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Ningbo Research Institute. Junrun Capital, Chuanliu Capital, Haijiao Technology, Lan Gui Capital, Linear Capital, Tsinghua Qidi (Ningbo), China-CEE Innovation Cooperation Research Center, Jingxing Tiancheng Investment, Lohi Private Equity Fund, Ningbo National Investment and other investment institutions and local related enterprise representatives of more than 50 people participated in this Swiss innovation project promotion and exchange meeting.

Third Stop Tianjin Wuqing
From November 13th to 14th, Switzerland-China Innovation Center led 9 representatives of high-quality Swiss high-tech entrepreneurial projects to Wuqing Development Zone to carry out the activity of "Swiss Innovative Enterprises in China", in-depth investigation and communication in the park, and held a project roadshow. At the symposium, Yan Wenjie, Deputy General Manager of Wuqing Development Zone, on behalf of the Zone, warmly welcomed the arrival of Swiss-Chinese Innovation Center. He introduced that Wuqing Development Area was established in 1991, which is a state-level economic and technological development zone, a state-level high-tech industrial park and the core area of Tianjin National Innovation Demonstration Zone. Since then, Wuqing Development Area has been adhering to the development concept of "Innovation, Coordination, Green, Openness and Sharing", vigorously developing an open economy, and attracting a large number of high-quality foreign-funded enterprises to settle in the area, including Swiss enterprises such as BOCI, Oerlikon, etc. We hope that through this visit and exchanges, both sides will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with each other. We hope that through this visit and exchange, both sides can discuss cooperation and development.
The responsible comrades of Wuqing Development Zone introduced the development situation and investment environment of Wuqing Development Zone in detail from the aspects of ecological environment, location and transportation, planning and layout, leading industries, innovation system, supporting policies, park services, etc., and answered the concerns of the representatives of Swiss high-tech entrepreneurial projects one by one.
In the project roadshow, Wuqing Development Zone invited nearly 20 park investment institutions, upstream and downstream related enterprise representatives to participate. 9 Swiss high-tech entrepreneurial project representatives introduced their projects, which covered intelligent science and technology, biomedicine and other fields.
At last, the Swiss-China Innovation Center and its delegation went to Hongri Pharmaceuticals, Novogene, and Yiho Jiaye for a site visit respectively. Representatives of Swiss high-tech projects have said, "Through talks, roadshows, visits and other rich forms, personally feel the innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere of Wuqing Development Zone, with investment institutions and upstream and downstream enterprises to carry out a full communication docking, this visit is worthwhile!"
Fourth stop: Zhenjiang
On November 15, Swiss-China Innovation Center and representatives of Swiss high-tech entrepreneurial projects came to Zhenjiang New District to carry out the activity of "Swiss Innovative Enterprises in China", to carry out in-depth investigation and communication and to hold project roadshows. Mr. Pan Dachun, member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of the New District, attended the meeting.
Pan Dachun expressed a warm welcome to the Swiss-China Innovation Center and his party, and made a detailed introduction to the economic and social development and business environment of Zhenjiang New District, hoping that the Sino-Swiss Industrial Park and the Swiss-China Innovation Center will continue to maintain close cooperation, and promote in-depth exchanges between high-quality high-tech innovation enterprises in Switzerland and enterprises, parks and related investment and financing institutions in the new district, so as to drive more excellent Swiss projects to land and develop in the new district, and more excellent talents to invest and prosper in the new district. Representatives of Swiss entrepreneurs have said, "This visit to the Zhenjiang new area and Danyang is rich in the form of exchanges, so that we personally feel the innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere of Zhenjiang and Danyang area, we will also grasp the opportunity to exchange, and strive to carry out more cooperation with the Zhenjiang area."

Through this 10-day exchange program, the 10 Swiss start-ups have deepened their understanding of Chinese enterprises and government policies, and solidified the foundation for future long-term cooperation and even landing in China. Looking forward to more Swiss innovation and entrepreneurship enterprises visiting and landing in China in the future, the Swiss-Chinese Innovation Center will further cooperate with the Chinese government in the areas of talent attraction, science and technology projects, and investment attraction to further resource docking and constructive cooperation, and help them to take root and grow in the dual places of the two countries.
