Innovation Trip China 2025

2025 marks the 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Switzerland and China. Against this historic backdrop, Swiss-Sino Innovation Center (SSIC) together with Sino European Federation of Lifesciences (SEFL) launches its 5th Innovation Trip China to empower Swiss high-growth startups with:
- Market Intelligence: First-hand exposure to China’s dynamic innovation ecosystem.
- Fundraising Opportunities: Gain attention from Chinese investors for attracting investment.
- Strategic Partnerships: Direct access to corporates and policy makers.
- Policy Leverage: Insights into subsidies/benefits for foreign startups in Chinese innovation hubs.
The 5th SSIC Innovation Trip China program is planned to visit 4 cities within 2 weeks between 15th and 25th September 2025 (can be slightly adjusted) with numerous visits, pitching & networking events, which aims to bring together financial institutions, large corporates, innovators and government officials to seek synergy and the best opportunities to cooperate, and to facilitate the effective cooperation in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship between the two countries.
The trip is jointly organized by Swiss-Sino Innovation Center (SSIC) and Sino European Federation of Lifesciences (SEFL), and co-organized in partnership with Shanghai SIMIC InnoSpring Co., Ltd., Insight Tech and supported by ETH Entrepreneur Club and our local Chinese partners.
With our deep understanding in the China local market, policies and ecosystem, with our well-established network with local governments, enterprises, incubators and investors in China, SSIC is able to help the Swiss startup connect to the right partner in China.
The selected Swiss startup will have an exclusive opportunity to:
• have an on-site experience of current innovation ecosystem in China;
• access to a variety of leveraging policies/subsidies for overseas startups in different innovation parks;
• face-to-face interact with selected Chinese investment institutions and investors;
• facilitate market entry strategies for 10 selected Swiss startups, such as special regulations, financial restrictions for overseas startup, intellectual property and technology transfer issue to be concerned, and so forth.
• foster cross-border collaborations in med-tech, biotech, healthcare, cleantech, and smart manufacturing.

We will select 10 Swiss startup entrepreneurs to participate this trip. One person from each company is sponsored.

Cost
Thanks to our partners and sponsors, all travel expenses, accommodations* and most of the meals during the trip will be covered by SSIC.
*NOTE: The accommodation before or after the innovation trip is not covered. The participant should book a hotel of this night at his/her own expense.

Important notes for the trip, please read carefully:
For the trip:
- The trip starts on 14 Sept 2025, and ends on 25 Sept 2025.
- If you have a plan for itinerary is different from us, please contact with us in advance. Any additional costs generated by this shall be covered by yourself.
For the official meetings and business culture:
- Most events hosted by the government officials will follow the Chinese government meeting style. Generally, the business meetings would be quite different than in Europe or US. This could be different from what you expected if this is your first time in China.
For the confidentiality
- SSIC and SELF did not sign any non-disclosure agreement with our local partners in China, which means it is better for you to keep your sensitive data/materials carefully.
- Please be aware that you are under your own risk to disclose any information.
For the responsibility and security
- SSIC and SELF is not a travel agency, and did not buy the travel insurance. Hence, you are strongly recommended to buy a travel insurance for yourself.
- We will try our best to organize a smooth and secure trip. However, all the potential risks during the trip, including but not limited to confidentiality, security, accident, loss of property, or any other related travel risks are on you own. By participating this trip, you should be aware and agree that SSIC is not responsible for any of the above risks.
