From September 16 to 24, the 2026 SSIC InnoTrip China came to a successful close. Marking the 10th Anniversary of the Sino-Swiss Innovative Strategic Partnership Innovative Strategic Partnership, this event took the ten-year partnership as its starting point and industrial innovation as its bond. It connected key innovation hubs across the Yangtze River Delta, launching a cross-border, cross-sector journey of in-depth innovation matchmaking.

Over the nine-day itinerary, the SSIC delegation travelled extensively to conduct on-site investigations. It visited four core urban districts in Shanghai — Jiading, Putuo, Qingpu and Huangpu — as well as two major industrial clusters in Jiangsu Province: Zhenjiang and Taicang. Moving through the cutting-edge frontiers of sci-tech-industry integration in the Yangtze River Delta, the delegation examined local industrial layouts, Innovation ecosystems and business environments, and engaged closely with high-quality cooperation resources.

To build efficient, precise two-way cooperation bridges, the event hosted a series of well-tailored China-Swiss project matchmaking sessions. These included "The 10th Anniversary: Empowering Qingpu with Swiss Intelligence and Innovation", which honoured ten years of collaborative achievements between China and Switzerland; "Empowering the Shanghai-Nanjing Innovation Belt and Meeting at Half-Marathon Suzhou River", which focused on the Shanghai-Nanjing Innovation Corridor and boosted regional collaborative innovation momentum; a special session at the FTC Hub in Huangpu’s Bund Central Sci-Tech Zone. Leveraging the district’s clustered strengths in fintech, the delegation held targeted exchanges centred on Fintech, digital innovation and cross-border incubation. Completing the lineup was "From the Rhein to Loujiang River", a cross-border industrial dialogue platform that brought together Swiss precision-driven innovation strengths and the industrial advantages of the Yangtze River Delta.

Through targeted matchmaking and in-depth discussions, geographical barriers were broken down, technological resources were linked and consensus for cooperation was forged. Centred on high-end manufacturing, technology innovation, green low-carbon development and industrial integration, the events created a high-quality platform for Chinese and Swiss enterprises and research institutions to share resources, exchange technologies and jointly develop projects. Multiple rounds of in-depth negotiations and cooperative intentions were generated, enabling cutting-edge overseas innovative technologies to take root in China’s industrial landscape, while local high-quality industrial resources gained access to international innovation systems.

Ten years of steadfast progress, endless vitality in innovation. The 2026 SSIC InnoTrip serves both as a retrospective and summary of ten years of Sino-Swiss innovation cooperation, and as a brand-new starting point for deeper practical collaboration and shared future-building between the two nations.

Moving forward, drawing on the advantages of the Sino-Swiss Innovative Strategic Partnership, both sides will continue to deepen multi-dimensional cooperation in collaborative innovation and industrial convergence. We will keep exploring new opportunities for cross-border innovation and new models for industrial integration. The innovative wisdom from the Rhein and the dynamic industrial vitality of the Yangtze River Delta will continue to thrive side-by-side, writing a new chapter for high-quality Sino-Swiss innovation cooperation.
