Consul General Zhao attended Guangdong – SSIC Innovation Cooperation Symposium

On November 24, 2018, Chen Yiwei, Chief of the province Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security in Guangdong, led a delegation from Guangdong Province to visit the Swiss-Sino Innovation Center (SSIC). Zhao Qinghua, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Zurich and the Principality of Liechtenstein, was invited to attend the meeting. Feng Jianhua, director of SSIC, Wang Zhi, executive deputy director, Wu Ke, secretary general, Shen Jiayun, deputy secretary-general and other representatives of SSIC, representatives of Swiss start-ups, as well as representatives of Chinese students, attended the symposium.
The delegation of Guangdong Province first visited the S Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich and the Swiss-Sino Innovation Center (SSIC). Feng Jianhua, director of SSIC, introduced the Swiss innovation and entrepreneurship policy, as well as the development of the innovation park and the incubator of SSIC.
At the symposium, Feng Jianhua, the director of the SSIC, expressed warm welcome to the delegation of Guangdong Province on behalf of the SSIC, and introduced the advantages of Switzerland from the aspects of innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, vocational training and the development of SSIC. Zhao Qinghua, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Zurich and the Principality of Liechtenstein, briefly introduced the basic situation of Switzerland and the long-term friendly relationship between China and Switzerland. He also pointed out that Guangdong and Switzerland have great potential for cooperation. He hopes that both sides can not only adhere to the concept of “win-win”, but also deepen cooperation pragmatically. Furthermore, Mr. Zhao appreciated the achievements of SSIC in recent years, and hopes that the center will continue to serve as a bridge for Sino-Swiss innovation cooperation, especially in solving the common problems faced by the mankind.
Chen Yiwei, Chief of the province Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangdong, expressed his gratitude to Consul General Zhao and Director Feng Jianhua for their warm welcome and introduced the great achievements made by Guangdong Province in recent years. Director Chen said that Swiss innovation achievements in many fields are in line with Guangdong's industrial planning, thus there is a huge room for the cooperation potential between the two sides. The two sides can explore the cooperation model of “incubate in Switzerland, transfer in Guangdong” to further strengthen cooperation.
Wu Ke, Secretary General of SSIC, gave a detailed introduction to the characteristics of Swiss innovation, the background of the SSIC and the achievements in recent years. Subsequently, Xie Bin, deputy director of Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangdong Province, Zhu Xiangyang, director of the Huizhou Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, Lian Weiguang, director of the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of of Human Resources and Social Security, and Liao Xuanwen, deputy director of the Zhaoqing Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, introduced Guangdong province, Huizhou Municipality, Zhuhai Municipality and Zhaoqing Municipality respectively in terms of their industrial advantages, talent introduction policies, innovation and entrepreneurship status, etc.

At the symposium, five Chinese entrepreneurs in Switzerland introduced their companies and projects, including visual enhancement of high-precision real-time dynamic satellite navigation technology (co-founder and CEO: Zhenzhong SU), R&D and technology transfer of sports-related medical devices (founder and CEO: Xiang LI), wide-bandgap semiconductor devices and driver chips and applications (founder: Dan LIU), dam safety monitoring and management information platform (founder: Meng Pearl), artificial intelligence IoT chip (deep learning scientist: Jianwen SUN).
