Visit from Jiaxing Industrial Domain Manufacturing Service Promotion Agency

On April 28, 2018, SSIC recieved representatives from Jiaxing Industrial Domain Manufacturing Service Promotion Agency and Jiaxing Juli Innovation Park for a collaboration meeting. Director of SSIC, Dr. Feng Jianhua, Executive Deputy Director Mr. Wang Zhi, Secretary General Dr. Wu Ke and other core team members of SSIC joined the meeting, together with 11 innovation and entrepreneurship representatives from Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Lausanne and Zurich (EPFL and ETH).
Dr. Feng expressed a warm welcome on behalf of SSIC and briefly introduced the center. Dr. Feng further pointed out that Switzerland remained the world innovation champion for many years, and that its innovation capability had been obvious to all, consequently, Dr. Feng affirmed, “The cooperation between Switzerland and China in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship has great development potential.” Dr. Wu elaborated in detail the relationship between Switzerland and China in terms of diplomatic relations and economic cooperation, as well as the Swiss innovation environment and the core business of SSIC. The Jiaxing delegation highly recognized the immense potential for innovation and cooperation between China and Switzerland. Subsequently, Prof. Zhou Zhenfeng, Director of the Jiaxing Industrial Domain Manufacturing Service Promotion Agency, gave a comprehensive introduction to the humanistic and social environment, the “machine replacing people” policy, talent policy as well as the policy of innovative and entrepreneurial projects in Jiaxing. Prof. Zhou welcomed Swiss innovation entrepreneurs to Jiaxing and expressed his willingness to help the Swiss enterprises to establish in Jiaxing.
Two representatives from the entrepreneurs demonstrated their innovation projects on multimaterial fiber and intellectual diagnostics. Delegates from Jiaxing highly praised the projects and provided recommendations for the two entrepreneurs based on Chinese market and the potential case-specific development strategy. During the meeting, the core team of SSIC had an in-depth exchange of views with Jiaxing delegation on issues such as the docking between China and Switzerland innovation projects, the matching between technology and the Sino-Swiss market, and the direction of cooperation between the two parties. A preliminary cooperation understanding was reached at the end of the meeting. Finally, representatives from both sides discussed the future cooperation mechanism during dinner. Jiaxing delegation had also further in-depth interaction with the Swiss innovation representatives.
