Visit from entrepreneurs of innovation industrial parks in Jingjinji Metropolitan Region

Jingjinji Metropolitan Region (JJJ) refers to the region of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, the biggest urbanized region in Northern China and a central plank of China’s economic development plan over the next century. Lately SSIC invited representatives from State Development & Investment Corporation Fund Management Co., Ltd. (SDIC), Tianjin Haihe Industrial Fund, Beijing Dongsheng Tech Park, Zhongli (Tianjin) Industry-Region Joint Development Fund, Beijing Aplus Labs, Peking University Science Park, and other representatives of the innovation industrial parks in JJJ Metropolitan Region to visit the center in Zurich, aiming to discuss with SSIC on Swiss innovation capability and innovation cooperation between Switzerland and China. Dr. Feng Jianhua, Director of SSIC and other SSIC key members received the delegation, together with five representatives of Swiss innovation enterprises.

 

Dr. Feng welcomed the delegation and gave a brief introduction to the background and development of SSIC. The head of the delegation, Mr. Sheng Bin, Managing Director of SDIC, underlined the foreseeable high potential in innovation collaboration between Switzerland and China and expressed his wish to push forward the cooperation with Swiss universities, industrial parks and other relevant innovation institutions.

 

Dr. Wu Ke, Secretary-General of SSIC, introduced the outstanding advantages of Swiss innovation, and expounded in detail the matching point of innovation cooperation between China and Switzerland based on the background of cooperation between the two countries, innovative enterprises, venture capital and other aspects. Members of the delegation shared invaluable discussion with SSIC on issues related to the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in China, the focus point of Swiss-Sino innovation cooperation, project incubation and service, the docking between technology and market, etc. The two sides exchanged views on collaboration direction and reached an understanding in cooperation intentions.

 

Four representatives of Swiss high-tech startups from biomedical, medical devices, intelligent diagnostics and navigation technologies conducted project roadshows. The delegates highly praised the projects and provided practical suggestions on project development and docking with Chinese market. Moreover, the delegation also expressed anticipation for further cooperation in future.
