The Second stop: Ningbo
Ningbo is a major manufacturing powerhouse in China and was the first city in China to implement Made in China 2025. One of the major events during this trip was to officially launch the SSIC Incubator in Ningbo.
On the evening September 15, after arriving in Ningbo, those who were impatient decided to take a first peek into the newly furnished incubator, located beside Yinzhou Park, in the central area of Yinzhou District.
The Yinzhou District was hosting the Yinzhou Talent, Science & Technology Intellectual Creation Week, which aimed to foster dialogue and collaboration in innovation and technology by inviting high-level overseas talents to visit and participate in multiple docking events in Yinzhou. The SSIC delegation was invited to the opening ceremony of the event on the morning of September 16. Yinzhou District is the economic, political, and cultural center of Ningbo city, listed in 2017 as one of the top 100 Chinese counties and districts in terms of industrial development.
Included also in the opening ceremony the unveiling of several overseas “Talent Workstations”, where the Director of SSIC Dr. Feng Jian received officially the nameplate of the Swiss Talent Workstation. The Secretary General of SSIC Dr. Wu Ke signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Yinzhou District Technology Bureau.
The awardees of the Yinzhou 2018 Entrepreneurship Programme were announced, among which were Fixposition and ZuriMed from the SSIC delegation. Congratulations!
In the afternoon, the 2nd Swiss-Sino Innovation & Entrepreneurship Cooperation Forum (Ningbo) was held. Dr. Feng Jianhua and the Director of the Organization Department of Yinzhou District Mr. Chen Jienong unveiled the Sino-Swiss (Ningbo) Technology Incubator.
Dr. Wu Ke gave a concise introduction of Swiss-Sino innovation cooperation and SSIC.
The second roadshow of the trip proceeded.
In the evening, the group visited Ningbo city center, experiencing the night life of Ningbo Old Bund.
On September 17, the delegation paid a visit to Ningbo Southern Business District (CBD), and the newly inaugurated Sino-Swiss (Ningbo) Technology Incubator with its 2000 m2 office area.
The afternoon visit covered three of the top enterprises in Ningbo: Ship Group, Ningbo Huiwuzhou Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd and Medicalsystem Biotechnology Co., Ltd (300439.SZ).
