The Thrid Stop: Jiaxing
Jiaxing is a prefecture-level city in northern Zhejiang province, northeast of Shanghai. Industry is the main economic driver to the city’s economy, contributing 53% to its GDP in 2017. The private economy in Jiaxing is particularly well-developed, with more than 50 listed companies in mechanical, chemical and electronic industries. Moreover, Jiaxing is also famous as the birthplace of the Chinese Communist Party.
September 18, the delegation visited Jiaxing Xiuzhou National Hi-Tech Zone Planning Exhibition Hall with its impressive 5D cinema and other multimedia displays. During the past two decades Xiuzhou district experienced rapid growth across many industries thanks to its favorable location and convenient transportation. More recently Xiuzhou has been striving to strengthen its exemplary effect of the industrialization and informatization integration to drive the development of its intelligent manufacturing.
Afterwards, the delegation visited two large companies at Jiaxing : Zhejiang Shenghui Lighting Co., Ltd and Zhejiang Dekang Medical Equipment Co., Ltd.
The Xiuzhou Sino-Swiss Innovation and Entrepreneurship Promotional Seminar unfolded in the Xiuzhou National High-Tech Zone. Following the roadshow, SSIC signed a collaborative agreement with Xiuzhou Human Resource and Social Security Bureau. Sino-Swiss (Jiaxing) Innovation Center was also officially unveiled.
The last dinner was succeeded by a stroll along the channels and narrow streets in Yuehe historical region. The intense but fruitful China trip was thus put to an end in this charming neighborhood with ancient small houses and flickering lanterns.
