With the cooperation of Shanghai international science and technology exchange center, Minhang district science and technology commission and other institutions, ten representatives of high-tech innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises from Switzerland and Europe were invited by SSIC to start a 10-day tour of China in Shanghai on September 16, 2019,

 

The ten start-ups which participated in this China trip are from the fields of electronic information, intelligent creation, new energy, new materials and biomedicine. Besides, they all have their own leading technologies and excellent potential market capacity. The Chinese market is particularly open and active under the current environment of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation". The huge potential market and policy support in China have a strong attraction for these start-up enterprises.

 

On the afternoon of Sep 16, the ten start-ups visited Swissnex. At first, Rahel Gruber, operation director of Swissnex in Shanghai, introduced the situation of science, technology and culture in Switzerland where the science and technology innovation index ranked first in the world continuously, reflecting the outstanding innovation advantages in Switzerland. Then, the project manager Simin Yang introduced the development of China's economy. The ultra-fast economic growth has made China second largest economy in the world, which shows outstanding economic development and market potential. The continuous and in-depth exchanges and cooperation between China and Switzerland provide unprecedented opportunities to achieve win-win results in science, technology and innovation exchanges, as well as capital connection between the two countries.

On September 17, ten high-tech innovative enterprises from Switzerland and Europe visited Zizhu Science Park and conducted investigation and communication with enterprises in Zizhu Science Park. Afterwards, they moved to Neo Bay Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster for investigation and communication, and conducted a project roadshow in order to connect with the Chinese market, capital and partners.

 

In the perspective of "technological exchange, investment and development, and win-win cooperation", the activities will help China introduce cutting-edge technologies (electronic information, intelligent creation, new energy, new materials, biomedicine and other fields) from Switzerland, and help Chinese scientific and technological enterprises innovate and develop.

 

9.17 Zizhu Science Park  

 

Through this communicate event, the ten science and technology innovation enterprises from Switzerland and Europe deepened their understanding of Chinese enterprises and government policies, consolidated such a solid foundation for long-term cooperation that they may settle in China in the future. We look forward to having more innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises from Switzerland and Europe to visit China and settle in China in the future.

 

Further, SSIC will coordinate resources constantly and cooperate constructively with the Chinese government in terms of attracting talents, scientific and technological projects and investment promotion and capital introduction, so as to help them root and grow stronger in both countries.

1. New Green Tec GmbH, CEO Frido Stutz

Project:  An Ecological power system combining wind and solar energy

 

 

New Green Tec focuses on innovation of ecological power supply, combining wind and solar energy in a single device that is easy to install and set up with minimal installation costs. It should be able to distribute the production of electricity and enable local power generation to be used to avoid and eliminate additional grids and all losses caused by transferring power to thousands of miles. With this innovation called Energy Tower, we can provide electricity to remote areas, family homes, small and medium businesses, clinics and schools, as well as to all those willing to contribute to an ecological, sustainable world and a better climate.

 

 

2. Amena AG, CEO&CTO Reto Seiler

Project: Conceptual engineering for the integration and management of multi-energy systems

 

 

Amena is an independent and innovative engineering company founded in 1988 .

 

From inception to 2010, Amena focused on photovoltaic systems, energy efficiency and technical energy management for residential and commercial applications. Since 2018, with Mr. Reto Seiler joining Amena as a new business partner, Amena is committed to integrating and providing solutions for multi-energy systems, such as renewable energy, power storage systems and residential, commercial and industrial electricity and cooling charging systems.

3. Pilotec, CEO Zhang Peng

Project: The Diversity of Robot Applications

 

 

Pilotec is a robotics hardcore startup based in Stuttgart, the industrial capital of Germany. The founding team has many years of industry experience and a deep understanding of robotics and core technologies. Products include educational robots, industrial robots, core server solutions, and sensing technologies. At the same time, it also has in-depth cooperation with KIT robotics institute and Harbin Institute of Technology robotics research to expand the product categories. The product is widely used in pharmaceutical industry, food industry, laboratory and teaching fields.

 

 

4. SunRegen Healthcare, Co-founder and President Guan Hechang

Project: Research and development of innovative drugs for treating optic atrophy

 

 

SunRegen Healthcare is a biomedical company based in Basel, Switzerland with outstanding innovative achievements in the research of neurodrugs. The founder of the company has a background in drug research and development of a major international pharmaceutical company, management experience in a multinational company, and many years of experience in start-up operation. SunRegen is a star innovator in Switzerland and is highly valued and supported by the industry and the Swiss government.

 

The company is currently working on a candidate drug, SBC003, which has been shown to have the effect of nerve regeneration and can be used to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as optic atrophy. So far there is no drug that can effectively treat optic atrophy disease. The drug is expected to be a breakthrough in the effective treatment of optic atrophy. The compound is currently under development, first for the treatment of optic atrophy and then for other neurodegenerative diseases.

 

 

5. JB Tech Group,  Enterprise representative HE Qian

Project:Industrial Production of Intelligent 3D Display System

 

 

The project is mainly engaged in the research and production of intelligent 3d display system, with the initial investment of RMB six million. The self-developed intelligent 3d display system is a new generation of display technology, whose key technologies include artificial intelligence, electronic information, big data and digital economy. At present, our products and technologies is ahead of the world, having applied for more than 50 invention patents all over the world and authorized more than 10 international invention patents. We have reliable technology of this product, broad market prospect and extensive market application range.

 

It is expected that the product can be mass-produced and put on the market within three or four years. After the completion of all the products, the annual sales volume can reach RMB 200 million, and the profit and tax can reach RMB 100 million. The goal of the company is to build the most advanced R&D and production base in the field of international intelligent 3d display technology, and formulate relevant international standards to build China's own world-renowned brand.

 

 

6. JB Tech Group, Co-founder and General Manager Huang Jiang

Project: Establishment of a centre for testing large-scale Mutants and a modern agricultural technology Institute

 

 

The team obtained a rich variety of mutant materials for molecular breeding through the technical system of reverse genetic means -TILLING mutation technique and high-throughput point mutation detection method. It is planned to establish the first large-scale mutation detection service center in China through the combination of genomic big data and TILLING technology and gene editing technology.

The project will focus on building a modern agricultural biotechnology and health industry research institute including six centers, which called the demonstration center of modern agriculture & health industry, the R&D center of modern agriculture&health science and technology, the Sino-Foreign agricultural & health communication and cooperation center, the modern agricultural & health industry training center and the agricultural & health industry science education center.

 

This will serve as a model for the development of modern agriculture & big Health Industry in China's Yangtze river delta, and will also have an important and far-reaching impact on promoting the friendly communication and cooperation between China and the Netherlands as well as between China and Europe.

 

 

7. Energy Depot Swiss GmbH, COO Lu Jing

Project: Design & Development and System Integration of New Energy

 

 

The company was founded in 2014 in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland by Roland Burkhart, who has decades of rich and successful experience in the new energy industry.

 

Centurio Energy storage system developed by Energy Depot won the Munich Energy storage of the year award in 2017 for its outstanding performance in system efficiency. The honor represents the highest level of international innovation in energy storage.

 

 

8. Song’s International, founder Liao Xiaowei,

Project: Solar unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)

 

 

The company plans to mass-produce the solar-powered drones in China developed by Switzerland's ETHZ and sell them worldwide. This product is a low-altitude, long-endurance (multi-day) solar-powered UAV, currently leading the world in technology. It is planned to start from China and Switzerland, to open up and expand the market in the world.

 

The advantages of this product are as follows:

After three years of technology accumulation, it has owned 47 inventions, works and other intellectual property rights. It is committed to making health monitoring more mobile, convenient, fragmented and ubiquitous. The company is a high-tech enterprise and gold seed enterprise in Zhongguancun.

 

 

10. CYTOSNAP,CEO & Founder Cao Xiaobao,

Project: High Speed Single Cell Imager 

 

 

The high-speed imaging flow cytometer developed by the company integrates microscopic imaging and flow cytometry, takes microfluidic control as the core technology, and introduces advanced optical technology and artificial intelligence analysis system, which can obtain statistical information of cell morphology, cell mechanics and protein spatial distribution with high throughput. This product relies on the international technical background of ETH and completes the transformation of technical achievements in China through the transfer of intellectual property rights. As the world's first artificial intelligence imaging flow cytometer, built by the world's top technical team, it will provide faster, more accurate, more intelligent cell detection technology solutions.

 

This product has broad application prospects in immunology, oncology, hematology and new drug research and development and other application fields. Taking the typical early pus and blood disease detection as an example, because of the rapid onset and high mortality, the market size of this product alone is up to 2 billion Yuan per year.

 

At present, the prototype design of the first generation of products has been completed, and it has entered the stage of prototype engineering and product design.
